CONDITION DESCRIPTION: This all original, 1962, Corgi Ford Thames, 400E Airborne Caravan, Model #420, was definitely spared from the heavy playwear most of these camper style vehicles sustained. The olive-green & white paint is still beautiful with only a few tiny chips and rubs noticed. The brown & tan interior is clean and bright and still retains the padded bench seat. The windows are all nice and clear with only light scratches noticed. The blinds on both sides are clean and still nice and white. The front and rear painted bumpers have just a couple bumps on the corners but still look very nice. The “Glidamatic†suspension is still firm and the spun wheels shine bright. The original tires are not worn or cracked and do not show any flat spots or signs of dry rot. The base plate is still shiny with only a couple chips noticed.
You have to agree, there are not too many of these ORIGINAL, ‘62 Ford Thames Caravan’s out there that look this nice! From bumper to bumper, this VERY COLLECTABLE, Olive Green & White beauty still shines, and you’d almost swear it was a re-issued model!! It is nice and clean and still has the padded bench seat in perfect condition!!! This adult collector owned model has been carefully taken care of and would be the perfect addition to any diecast collection!!!!
