Very late in production, the Transporter Gift Set featuring this model was revised to included models with cast wheels. The bronze Hillman Imp and maroon Rover 2000 were suitably adapted but these are very scarce and seldom come to light now. Numbers produced are unknown but these are each some of the rarest Corgis from this era which you might have expected to buy at your local toy store (as opposed to a factory error or special production for a company).
This is a well played-with example. The front suspension has survived and the rear suspension is very hard but not sagging as they usually do so it actually displays well and sits evenly. It has a clean white interior and the screens are all good with no scratches or cracks. It is all original.
This would have had an opening case on the rear shelf which is not included. I do have one or two original brown cases and may be prepared to sell one with this model at a small increased price. Contact me for more information. Good replacement cases are also easy to find and not expensive.
There is a range of Hillman Imps and other models at my own website - just enter corgi.toys in your browser - where more details, photos and discounted prices can be found. These include different shades of blue, the bronze edition with very scarce cast wheels (ex-late late Transporter Gift Set) and the sought-after Jensen's edition in pale blue.
