These early models are getting on for nearly 30-40 years. This one has been looked after well and has all its delicate parts still intact.

Red diecast metal body, red plastic wings, black chassis. Chrome radiator grille with stylised Alfa Romeo script and badge, temperature gauge, headlamps, twin aero screen surrounds, engine cover pins, passenger side-mounted exhaust, driver-side mounted spare wheel with red, 3-arm brace and chrome 2-eared hub spinner, fuel cap, wire wheels and rear Milan-registered number plate.

Black interior with detailed dashboard, chrome gear lever and handbrake, detailed pedals and functional black, 4-spoke steering wheel that turns the front axle.

The engine covers are held in place by chrome pins that can be released. The bonnet hinges in the middle and folds in half on each side to reveal a detailed 2.3 litre straight-8 engine in silver, grey & chrome.

It rolls on chrome wire wheels with treaded rubber tyres and 2-eared hub spinners that can be removed to allow the wheels to be changed.

Underneath is a detailed chassis and drivetrain.

The Alfa Romeo 8C was a range of Alfa Romeo road, race and sports cars of the 1930s.

The first model was the 1931 '8C 2300', a reference to the car's 2.3 L (bore: 65 mm, stroke: 88 mm, 2336 cc) engine, initially designed as a racing car, but actually produced in 188 units also for road use. While the racing version of the 8C 2300 Spider, driven by Tazio Nuvolari won the 1931 and 1932 Targa Florio race in Sicily, the 1931 Italian Grand Prix victory at Monza gave the "Monza" name to the twin seater GP car, a shortened version of the Spider. The Alfa Romeo factory often added the name of events won to the name of a car.
